Hiragana Times Landing Page Design


Hiragana Times is a monthly magazine that introduces the real Japan to the world, in English and Japanese. You can study language while learning about Japan. Hiragana Times has been published since 1986 and has readers in more than 100 countries. Readers are mainly in their 20s and 30s, but the number of middle-aged and elderly readers has been rapidly increasing in recent years.


Landing page
The main goals of the landing page are let users have a quick understanding of Hiragana Times and preview the various content first, then drive the purchase behavior ultimately.


From student to adult, the target audience age of Hiragana Times is more and more wide. According to the change, the values of Hiragana Times was adjusted also. We decided to add new colours different from the original colours scheme of Hiragana Times and used daring colours along with outgoing layout to emphasize the the fusion of the Japanese classic culture and the trendy generation.

Apart from the original three colours, we add purple and green to present the trendy and riveting feeling which are the new values of Hiragana Times.

Wireframe
The wireframe of this page was created by Product designer, and I was in charge of the visual part. Then, we collaborated on the interaction design together. To create a great user experience and show more detail of the app and magazine, we made many interaction design on this page, and balanced interactivity and fluency also.​​​​​​​
